Java Industries was established in the heart of Kochi by Jacob Philip, a visionary Mechanical Engineer who graduated from The Manipal Institute of Technology in 1965. His passion for steel led him to venture into the steel business in 1966, starting with the manufacturing of car bumpers, carriers, and tail pipes.

In 1967, Jacob Philip founded Java Industries, a steel service centre in Kochi, Kerala. His dedication and innovative spirit laid the foundation for a company that would grow to become a leader in the steel industry. In 1996, his son, Philip Jacob, joined the business and played a pivotal role in expanding its reach. Philip established Southern Tubes in Manali, Chennai, which primarily caters to M/S Wheels India (TVS Group).
